Terms of Service
These terms describe the agreement between you and Apartment Memory. They are not legal advice and do not guarantee compliance with the laws that apply to you.
Use of the service
Apartment Memory is a documentation and organization tool for renters. It helps you record apartment condition, repairs, receipts and communication, and organize that record over time. You may use it only in accordance with these terms and applicable law.
User accounts
You need an account to use the product. You must provide an accurate email address, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for individual use; do not share your login. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Acceptable use
Do not upload content you have no right to store, use the service to harass anyone, attempt to access another user's data, probe or disrupt our infrastructure, scrape the service, or use it to misrepresent facts. We may suspend accounts that do these things.
Your content, photos and documents
You own the photos, documents, notes and records you upload. You grant us only the licence needed to store, process, back up and display that content to you, and to run the features you request — including sending selected content to our AI provider when you ask for an AI result. We do not use your photos or documents in marketing without your explicit, separate permission.
AI-generated information and its limits
AI features produce suggestions, observations and summaries that may be incomplete, inaccurate or wrong. They are labelled as AI-generated and unverified until you confirm them. AI output is not legal, financial, contractor, appraisal or insurance advice, and does not determine responsibility for any condition, the validity of any deposit deduction, or what any law requires. Always review AI output before relying on it.
No guaranteed outcomes
Apartment Memory is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation. We make no guarantee about any legal, financial, repair, deposit or dispute outcome. Rental laws vary by state and city; for legal questions consult a qualified attorney or your local tenant resources.
Intellectual property
The service — including its software, design, branding and documentation — belongs to Apartment Memory and its licensors. These terms do not transfer any of those rights to you. Your content remains yours.
Plans and payments
Apartment Memory is currently in a free public beta and no payment information is collected. If paid plans are introduced, the applicable pricing and terms will be presented before any charge, and access to paid features begins only after payment is confirmed.
Service availability
We work to keep the service reliable, but it is provided "as is" and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Beta features may be unstable. Keep your own copies of anything critical.
Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that create legal risk, or where required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you where appropriate.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that AI results will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apartment Memory is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost deposits, or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, during the free beta, is zero. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as permitted.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
